There might have been one other band, but I just can't remember. Before this show we hungout all day with Critical Convictions, at 2:00 we left for Toronto and got there a little before 4:00, we got subway, and it was tasty. We hungout at the venue for a few hours, waiting for time to pass by, and eventually people started coming in. Bored Stiff played first, and I guess I was just really frustrated because they had borrowed my guitar gear and it kept shutting off and stuff. They played alright, I guess it really isn't my thing, but it wasn't bad either. Brandon leap frogged their singer but the singer moved, and Brandon accidentally kneed him in the face, causing him to bleed from his mouth, this is exactly why I love Brandon, because he has so many good intentions, and then does something funny, which completely backfires, making him look like an asshole, and then he apologizes for like twenty minutes. We played after Bored Stiff, and I think this was our best set thus far as a band, we ended up playing some covers and fucking them up, but for the most part everything we played was dead on. People moshed, people clapped, I ranted about how much I hate nazi skinheads, two drunk punks moshed to "It Worked For Kurt Cobain", party. Critical Convictions played after us, and they killed it. Such a gnarly band, and everyone has such wicked stage presence, drum faces are crucial. Bummed they didn't play a CCR cover though. Hazardous Waste played after and were really good, people were stoked on the Beastie Boys cover, and it was a lot of partying. Durk's rant about how he doesn't care about anything besides video games was hilarious. Urban Blight played last, and for some reason, some reason which blows my mind, they played for longer than five minutes. This set was awesome though, a bunch of covers, including Friend or Foe...Twice. Beav is the best front man in hardcore, and something is to be said when your band has Chris O'Toole playing bass, his sideburns and Blackhawks jersey are enough to make any band great.

After the show we headed to Ottawa which was a long drive, but it was a lot of fun. Stopping at McDonalds and having Ska Jeff talk to a cashier for 15 minutes about how we are on tour with Hedley and that we don't shower, despite having showers on our tour bus. Brandon two stepped a lot and then told the cashier to fuck off. This was all very funny. I was tired before this, but after laughing hysterically at 2AM, I am back into drive mode, let's do this Travolta. We head out again and we still have about 500 kilometers to go, which sucks, and to make things worse, Randy falls asleep, however, this is where things became awesome. Randy was completely asleep, however somehow still participating in our conversations the entire ride, I am sure this isn't important to anyone reading it, but I guess I have to write them down so I can laugh when I read this in the future.

"There is a problem...She has a dick"
"Fuck you Ottawa...Where are your waterfalls?"
"Thirsty."

We get to Ottawa, and half our band sleeps at Brittany's apartment, and the other half sleep at Ska Jeff/Maxx's house. Thank you to both homes for letting us stay at your house.

November 21st 2008

Today was our first day of tour, we played at J.R's basement in 2A Water Street in St Catharines. It was a lot of fun and a fair amount of people showed up. This place was small, but it was a blast. Lots of mosh. Incoherent played pretty good, with funny covers like Slip It In (Bobo added about 5 extra solos). Bobo got naked for the last song and that was really funny. Thieves played next and killed it, they played a fucked up cover, a champion cover, and a righteous jams cover. People went nuts and Justis played with them which was also cool. We played after and we played pretty good, because it was a basement show, we played a bunch of covers including Void - My Rules, Minor Threat - Small Man, Big Mouth, and Project X - Straightedge Revenge. People said we played good, I thought we were alright, but more importantly, Logan moshed naked. Critical Convictions played and people went ape shit, I am stoked everyone moshed non stop and people even stage dove on a couch. They played great and people were stoked.

Afterwards we had a sexy sleepover party at 4925, and when we went to 7-11 we got in an argument with a racist skin. Fuck racist skinheads. He followed us around later in his truck and then we just went home. Now a skinhead knows where I live, fuck it. Party mode.

Overall, good times. Critical Convictions are really nice and fun to hangout with. I am stoked for playing tonight with them. Hardcore lives.

November 17th 2008

This show was at L3, and probably our most monumental show as a band. We played with Agnostic Front, that is right, Vinny Stigma, Vinny fucking Stigma. When we showed up, they had a fucking HUGE tray of pasta that they probably got Pat Murphy to buy them, and they were mowing down hard. It was very hard not to laugh because, well, Vinny Stigma, the best guitarist in the universe is sitting there eating a big plate of fucking pasta in a camo jacket. We loaded our stuff in and then watched Agnostic Front set up, they were being funny and their merch guy just made a lot of jokes about Roger Miret. We played first and a fair amount of people were there, most importantly Derrick Gordon. We played pretty good despite a few fuck ups in Jeff Jackson Is A Pussy and Gratitudes For Grievances. I thought we could have done better, but fuck it, Stigma was in the same room, and I know I (Ryan) was nervous as fuck. Who cares though? Derrick Gordon and Jeff Coopman said we were good, that is all I care about. Urban Blight played after us and they were a lot of fun. Vatican Chainsaw Massacre was really cool too. The Carrier in my opinion (Ryan), sucked. I just couldn't have fun, and I guess I just don't like that genre of hardcore. Agnostic Front was awesome but tensions were high in the pit, lots of almost fights, but fuck it, Agnostic Front was hilarious and everyone in the band minus Gavin moshed the entire time. There was also a notable Chris O'Toole mosh, which I hadn't seen in a few years, since of course, when Ramp Locals covered Agnostic Front. The big scary skinhead was at this show, and he wasn't there to hear my banter when we were playing, I am sort of glad he wasn't, because I don't want to get my ass beat by a skinhead, but seriously, fuck ethnic superiority, white people suck. This show was awesome, and it was a great chance for us to play a big show, hardcore lives.

Also, Stigma came on stage with his guitar in the air and a Canadian flag, then bantered about how much he loves hardcore and Canada. Of course, none of this made sense, but Stigma doesn't talk his solos into his guitar, he shreds them, and he shreds them hard.

Okay, so summary, because this show ruled so hard.
- Stigma eating pasta
- Stigma sleeping on a couch dressed completely in camo
- Stigma not sound checking his own guitar
- Stigma says funny things about hardcore
- Stigma says funny things about Canada
- Stigma solos, so fucking hard.
- Class War sold a bunch of our shirts.

October 4th 2008

This show was done by Project Pain and was at Doogalls. This place is a typical sports bar with lots of 45 yearold men getting drunk and eating chicken wings, later they are probably going to drive their son Carmen to baseball practice and then beat their wives, you know, those kinds of bars. Incoherent played first, and right away the venue owners are bummed, and everyone in the room is in awe as Logan and Bobo sing a love ballad entitled "You're the gay one for sucking my dick". (This ended up being funny a few weeks ago when we tried to book another show here, the lady asked us if there would be bands talking in public about sucking cocks, we denied it and said that Grave Maker sounds like Green Day and Foo Fighters, it was a bad idea really, but in the end the show did go through.) Well, back to the subject: After Incoherent, Desperate Times played, I don't know what to say, they covered No Warning and people moshed. Thieves played after and they are very nice people and they play good music. Consumer Alert was supposed to headline, but for some reason, they made us headline, which sucked. They played pretty good I guess, that band has a lot of talent, and have since broken up. We played last and the room had gotten much more empty as it was later on. This sucked, but fuck it, we played and sounded like shit, probably our worst show yet, no one really moved and it was just really awkward. Hardcore lives, fucking up is good because you know where your mistakes are. Attendance was kind of weak because of another show/party going on at the Smoke Gallery. We went to that later, and that was cool too.

August 21st 2008

This show was at The End, a monumental venue in Niagara for the past few years, however it was closed down. Randy basically broke into this place, and threw a show in there, which ended up being awesome. The show was Always and Forever, EA, Regiment, Class War, and Come Clean, I don't really remember who else played, but fuck it, party. A ton of kids showed up to this show, and a lot of people moshed when Class War played. We played 'Revenge' the first time that night. This show was awesome and even Ryan's dad showed up, and was super bummed about our songs about pro-choice, cops, and how conservatism is stupid. Whatever, CliffxWar knows what the fuck is up.

July 26th 2008

This show was supposed to be at the Tossounian Gallery, however, when we got to the show that dumb Jeanette bitch freaked out and said she wasn't a goddamn baby sitter, had a mental breakdown, trashed all the art in her store, and told use we couldn't do the show there. We spray painted on a big piece of wood on her front windows and made it say "GO TO 4555" which is a venue a few doors down that William Pentland (Border City Records) worked at, and was able to get for the night. I have to thank William a ton for that because he totally got in shit for that, and there are very few people willing to put down some shit for the love of the music scene.

This show's line up was K.I.D.S, Class War, Spooky Scarecrows, and Christ Swallower. Despite having such a dilemma originally, the show went pretty good. K.I.D.S covered Cold World and Gary Glitter, perfect. We played alright, but I don't think Ryan's guitar was loud enough, but in general we were tight enough. We played to about fifty people. After we played Spooky Scarecrows went on, not many people dug them, but they played some cool parts, they didn't fit the show though. Christ Swallower played and I have no feelings about this band, they were neither good or bad. Afterwards we hungout hard and a dude from Christ Swallower dumped water on a hooker's head, as she was giving her pimp a blowjob on the middle of the street. I guess this sounds like a lie, but when you live on Jepson St, I can assure you that anything can happen. Later on, Christ Swallower slept over at Ryan's house, and his parents made them all sweet breakfast. Party mode is never truly party mode unless it is 8AM and Dom Maggiolo is walking down your stairs in his boxers scratching his balls and talking to your parents about his uncles.

June 5th 2008

This was our second show, and our first out of town show. We played Siesta Noveaux with Grave Maker and Casting Curses. I remember thinking this show was going to totally suck and that no one was going to show up, we were proved wrong at how gnarly Toronto hardcore is, and that people actually show up to shows. Not many people were there for us, but who cares? We played fairly tight and Gavin talked a lot. Ryan broke a guitar string, and then when he borrowed a guitar, he broke another string off of it. Luckily the dude from Casting Curses was super nice and didn't care at all. When we were done, a few kids came up and shook our hands, and told us we were good. In particular one gangster looking kid who looked like he had been listening to Death Before Dishonor since he was 9 was stoked one us, I was really surprised by that, and it felt good to be spilling into more than just punx. A lot of our friends came up to this show, and it was nice seeing them. Grave Maker was awesome as well, and those dudes are really nice.

May 20th 2008

This was our first show, we played at Bad Vuggum with I Refuse, Unrestrained, and Critter Farm. There may have been another band, again this is just from memory. We were put on this show under the name "X4925X", which was a joke about where we jam.

This show was pretty fun despite us being fairly nervous. We played Gratitudes For Grievances, Fighting For Fractions, Class War, Jeff Jackson Is A Pussy, It Worked For Kurt Cobain, and Harper Don't Up Punx. I doubt these songs were called this at this time. Gavin moshed a lot, and Brandon Donnelly somehow knew all the lyrics to 'It Worked For Kurt Cobain'. I remember people saying we played pretty good and that they were surprised because we sounded like an oi band recorded. That is the first show.

This Is Class War

http://www.myspace.com/classwarhc

This blog is going to be a recollection of all the shows we have ever played.
